Beautiful property, very well maintained and equipped. The room had everything we needed and was cozy and comfortable. The outdoor area with access to the lake is extremely well maintained, and there were plenty of activities to enjoy, such as kayaking, taking a ride on the little boat, and stand-up paddling, even though swimming wasn't an option. The location is great. We could do mostly everything walking.

this was a great location for my daughters basketball team, large lobby with lots of seating to hang out at night, outdoor seating area also with firepit, playground and lake right across the street and a walkway up to Main Street for eating and shopping right around the corner. Pool area was clean and towels well stocked. Only complaint was that only 1 of the 2 elevators was working due to maintenance so it took a while to wait for that but would definately stay here again. Ozzy at the front deask was so friendly and accomodating!

I liked the views, quietness, fresh air, variety of restaurants, nice spacious metered parking at the city center (pretty cheap compared to Boston), opportunities to walk around the city. Lake Placid is a nice hub for those wishing to go hiking Adirondack mountains and forests but not wanting to live in a campsite.

I really liked the town.
I really liked the town. It's cozy, with old buildings and without skyscrapers. Beautiful hiking options. Nice museum. Many coffee places and dinning options. A little bit overpriced but still OK for a vacation. Definitely it's better to have a kitchen at you stay options to save some money on a food.

I went Sunday to Thursday in mid December, but it seems like "season" doesn't start in Lake Placid until Christmas day. A lot of attractions and restaurants are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and it was raining the only day the speed skating oval was open for me, so I had bad luck and would plan better next time. I didn't get to do bobsled experience and other things from the legacy site and was even turned away from the Gondola at whiteface as a sight seer. So just make sure the things you want to do will be open when you go.

Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town.
Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town. Everything is within walking distance and there is so much to see and do. It’s pricey but there are so many beautiful little shops and places to eat. Walk the lake or climb a mountain, you’ll keep busy for days.

The hotel was great, very clean, beds comfy, great breakfasts! Staff was friendly and personable. Nice keurig coffee machine in room, so you can bring your own k cups if you want. They only have Green Mountain brand. They also have decaf. Location was the best! Not very far from anything! Loved the top of Whiteface Mountain, can access by elevator or hiking. Was a continuous fragrance of pine, reminded me of Christmas. While at the ski jumps we had a chance to see some of the 6-14 year olds practice. That was great! We had a very good meal at Black Bear Restaurant! Getting around town is very easy. All in all a great place to stay for a few days.
Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. Rooms were really comfortable. Staff were friendly and really helpful. Jason and Aiden were both exceptional waiters in the Great Room and were attentive without being overbearing. The lady at check-out was really friendly and nothing seemed like too much bother.
The food was perfect. The pancakes at breakfast were the best I've tasted and very fluffy and light.
Not a single thing to complain about and I'd happily visit again.
Good free breakfast options. It appears that they have a make your own pancakes set up but it wasn't in operation when I was there, probably because there were only a handful of guests on an off night near the end of the winter season. Room was surprisingly large. The whole hotel was very clean and well maintained. Location is excellent too. The Lake Placid Brewing Co. brewpub is next door and Main Street is a short walk away. Staff were very friendly.
Staff was absolutely wonderful & very helpful.
We loved everything about our stay & I truly mean everything.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom residence, which was more than enough space for my family of 5.
Everything was immaculately clean & well designed.
The rooms look exactly as described & pictured.
Close to resturants & stores.
Perfect location! We will book with Lake Placid Inn each time we are visiting the Lake Placid area.
Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Loved the 2 bedroom setup with kitchenette and modernized bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lobby had a comfortable living room to relax for a little while. Pool area looked so nice along with the Adirondack chairs and fire pit overlooking Lake Placid. We couldn’t use either bc it was winter but hope to stay in the summer to enjoy both.
This is a beautifully kept old-school motel. The decor is straight out of the 70s ski lodge -- wood paneling, drop ceilings, vintage appliances. So if you're looking for the latest in hotel chic, keep looking. But if you want a solid, clean, affordable, friendly place to spend a few days exploring Lake Placid and the surrounding Adirondacks, you can't do much better than this
Beautiful hotel, with rustic and comfortable shared areas. Rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable. Nice, cold AC and plenty of hot water. Lobby and breakfast area really gave the "Adirondack" feel, nice outdoor decks and chairs. Great location right at the foot of Main Street a d right across the street from Olympic museum, ice rink and speed skating oval. Y
We have stayed at High peaks several times in the past. The rooms were looking tired so we were especially happy to be in a newly renovated room-very nice. We were greeted with the traditional champagne and the chef had made brownies-nice touch. We love the location of the hotel and the free parking. The staff was great and accommodating. Thanks for a great stay.
Breakfast was an elaborate continental breakfast:scrambeld eggs or cheese omelet bacon juice coffee, muffins, bagels etc.
room was extremely clean and very spacious. The motel is situated across the olympic buildings at the beginnings of the city of Lake Placid
Very spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. Plenty of good quality furnishings, towels and toiletries. Good kitchen. Supermarket nearby and wine merchant across the road. Short drive to town centre, where the main hotel reception is.
Lovely large rooms, with excellent heating in the winter and perfect amenities such as coffee maker and microwave. The location is ideal for anyone visiting Lake Placid. Parking right outside and shops/restaurants in walking distance.
The hotel is well located and the rooms are clean and comfortable. There is on site access to Lake Placid. The Placid Bay hotel had some of the beet pillows we've experienced at a hotel in all our years of travel.
I really loved the lodge feel of the place and the scenery was absolutely magic looking out over mirror Lake towards Main Street in the beautiful little village of Lake Placid, New York.
