Jane's Apartment Rental is located in Pisa, just 3.2 miles from Pisa Cathedral and 3.4 miles from Leaning Tower of Pisa. Guests can benefit from a balcony and a terrace. We chose this apartment due to location and excellent reviews. It is a short 5 min walk across the parking lot at Pisa Airport. If you are arriving at Pisa Airport, just walk straight out. If you are, as we were, coming from Florence, take the train to Pisa Centrale and switch over to the shuttle...and walk straight across. The apartment is quite large - a 2 bedroom with a separate living room, dining room, kitchen and balcony. We only used the 2 bedrooms and bathroom for our overnight stay. But if you want to use the apartment as a base and travel from there, you have a complete modern kitchen, newly renovated bathroom, good beds and linens, and TV. We had a quick dinner downstairs at Luigi's Burger; there is also Luigi's Ramen. Overall, a great experience!

You really have nothing more to see along the leaning tower of Pisa and the cathedral in the centre. But in the morning there are stands with stuff to buy around the river and be sure to visit a store called Citees. It has the coolest t-shirts for a really cheap price, around 12-15 euros.
Valentina was a great host. She welcomed us and showed everything we know. She offered pushbikes for us to use which was a nice surprise. At our check out, she gave us lift to bus stop which was so helpful cz its about 15mins walk and our bags was heavy and was too hot to walk. She may needed to go in town anyway but she waited for us which was kind. Definitely recommend this place to stay if you want to be a little out of town.
Good starting point if you plan to visit also other places like Florence or Lucca as it is cheaper to stay and eat to Florence and the trains worked perfectly, on time and reasonable prices. I used it to get to Florence, you can get open tickets for the day for the same price as if you select certain time and there are several connections in an hour, each took different stops and times. I visited all the sites of Piazza Miracoli in Pisa included in 27 EUR ticket reserved the whole day for it but in fact one afternoon was ok. It is 20 minute fast walk from train station. But if you are not in the hurry it is a nice walk along shops and bistros. To enter the leaning tower really follow the instruction that are clearly stated on the official website before you buy the ticket. The steps are slipper even when no rain! Wide selection of restaurants was around the Piazza Miracoli on the other side of the river. Carefour Express and Pam supermarkets have bar space to charge your phone, you can buy a snack there and heat it up in the bar corner. There was even Nespresso capsule self service machine for only 0,70 EUR. Florence was packed with tourists but I expected it, no surprise there. I ate at the historical market in Florence; the ground floor is cheaper that the upper floor to eat though! You get market stalls but food is served and you can sit down and soak the atmosphere. Cheaper than to sit down outside in restaurants. Toilette is for free here but be prepared for a queue.
It was fantastic. Other tourists were respectful which were encouraging. The restaurants and cafes are too close to the crowd place itself though. Crowd control might make it a better experience but overall it was pleasant. It is easy to get around and I used both google map and applemap but the locals are very helpful too. I ate at a nearby place but it’s cheaper elsewhere. I’d avoid peak time and would visit early morning like 8 or 9 am. Still, Highly recommended!
Pisa is a must visit city, iconic! Feels out of a movie when see the famous landmarks! However do think Pisa is more of a day trip than a weekend one. Had 3 days booked in Pisa, but only spent one day here. Good transport to other cities as managed to visit Florence and Lucca. Pisa has amazing museums/art galleries!
The Hotel Verdi was just okay except no AC. For my wife n I, that’s a big problem. However, it was safe close to the Pisa tower but a bit too far from the train station only when you’re carrying luggage. It’s a safe area with a courthouse across the street so you see police coming into the hotel’s lobby cafe for an expresso
