Kindness of the personnel and service. Cleanliness. Typical japanese house and commodities. Futon used to sleep but very comfortable. We were proposed to be driven to the station since no taxi was available because of the festival period.

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Shiroyamakan offers accommodation in Shirakawa, 1.4 km from Shirakawago. Free private parking is available on site. The entire property is non-smoking. It’s really beautiful, very close from the express bus station (which I expect how most of the tourists access Shirakawa-go), the owners are super nice and wholesome, and serves a great meal plus super relaxing hot spring. I absolutely enjoyed my two days stay and made my first time ever trip to Shirakawa-go even more special. I strongly recommend to take the meals served (both dinner and breakfast) because they not only taste lovely but also very healthy! I will definitely revisit here if I come around Gifu-ken!

Situated in a tranquil area in Gifu Region, a 52-minute drive away from JR Takayama Station, Mozumo boasts a hot-spring bath and rooms decorated with modern Japanese interior. Fantastic staff that helped us cross the mountains the day when we were leaving, since there were unsafe driving conditions.

Founded in 1860, Juhachiro is located along Nagara River and boasts indoor and outdoor natural hot spring baths. The property is a 15-minute bus ride from Gifu Train Station. The staff is amazing, went above and beyond for us. We had a Japanese style room with a river view, it was great. The dinner was perfect, and so is the Onsen.

Awarded by TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice in 2015, Wanosato offers luxurious Japanese-style ryokan stay in a 160-year-old quaint Gassho-zukuri thatched-roof house, nestled in the tranquil woods. Most magical place. Never stayed anywhere like it with such an incredible view of the river. Felt like a dream. Food and service were remarkable

Offering traditional Japanese-style accommodation with spacious public baths, Yatsusankan is a 6-minute walk from JR Hidafurukawa Train Station. Very good onsen and it is a very interesting and immersive place to stay in Japan. The staff are very polite and friendly. I totally recommend Yatsusankan.
